Where is There?

One day in the back seat of my daughter's car, riding with my Granddaughter strapped in her Car seat (she was facing backwards of course), we looking at cows, trucks, tractors, horses that we found scattered throughout our cross country drive from her home to ours. In the process of our "excited to discover" conversation on the drive, I would say.. "Look over there at the cows sleeping," she would retort as she looked in the opposite direction "Over there?" And she would giggle as I would point and say "No, over there". She would continue to look in the opposite direction and repeat my words "No, over there". Or "No, over here." --- until I would look her square in the face and say "Where is there?" Her answer was interesting " My there is here!" Again pointing and looking the opposite direction.

Sometimes, I get the feeling that our wandering flesh-fueled distractions keep us from clearly and directly studying the "Where is there" that God's Spirit tries to lead, guide and direct the focus of our attention. And rightly so in our world... because even the mention of God says to most "The Law ... Obey or else"; and that harsh vision, though gloriously above our opinions, seems to bring in a cloud of separation over our plans for life. We see God as the "Big Eternal Party Pooper" Who gets His heavenly kicks out of putting the "Kibosh" on our ideas of fun.

But if we would allow His Truth to be opened and availed to us while we offer the sacrifices of righteousness - A broken and contrite heart, mind and spirit - we would be able to experience the refreshing, life changing wind of the Spirit that revitalizes the soul so we can focus on His ... "Where is there?"

Fundamentally true... The most in most important "where" can be stated as:

"Where" is where He is.The "there" is what our hearts discover when we are "where" He is.

Life of true Liberty -  Freeborn - no longer a slave... love is the new law.

"Now the Lord is that Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3:17,18

Life of a Home with Him - Heaven is our Home in Christ

"And if go, and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14:3

As we look at our nation today the distractions have overwhelmed us to the point that each of us needs to stop and return to His Where ... Daily. The closer we are in our walk with Him - the more we will realize that He is our value and He positions us as His priceless possession ... Allowing His likeness to become more and more the image that those around us perceive. This brings the validity there to the words of hope that we can have the privilege to deliver.

Here is some wisdom from the Word to lead us on:

2 Chronicles 7:12-15 - "And the LORD appeared unto Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people. If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will II hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attend the prayer that is made in this place."

Our value is not measured by any personal achievements, self-sacrificial acts, amassed fortune, righteous exposition, or earned position; likewise we are not devalued by our foolish choices, our reflexive fears, nor our debilitating scars caused by our solo acts of stubbornness to do and to be. Oh that we would be reflexively humbled by being called by His Name, His Fame and His Word.

For by Grace we are saved as His through Faith in Him. Now this positions us in the world with a power that transcends all the wickedness and hate that can be thrown our way. We do not have to be controlled by the muting of mediocrity, the numbing of apathy nor the brow beating of the status quo; we belong to the King. Our power is founded in the Perfect Love that comes from Above. Our greatest duty is to become living sacrifices ... Daily being that passive vessel that allows Him to pour through us -His active, life changing Spirit of Love.

Proverbs 10:12 - "Hatred stirs up strifes; but love covers all sin." -- Hatred arouses and constantly incites contention; but love covers with a new clothing ...that conceals from harm and overwhelmingly protects from all transgressions. This clothing is found in God's provision of forgiveness as he removes the incident, the guilt and the punishment via an offering of an overwhelming covering of Christ's Blood...

Where is there?

He is where, and there we will find Him - all in all, our everything!
